“The first memories are of my grandmother; a medicine woman who took me to forests in my native Croatia to pick special plants and herbs she would then prepare at home and chant over, making healing potions for people who needed it. These experiences are still very much alive within me, inspiring the certain vision of life.”
ALEKSANDRA “SASKA” NEIL
Saska is the creator and CEO of Gitane Oils, and a yoga, meditation and sound healer. She has been teaching yoga for couple of decades and currently works with private clients and the Harold Robinson Foundation. The organization brings inner-city children on a beautiful retreat to have them participate in activities that awaken and nurture a sense of community, empowerment, compassion, kindness, and empathy.
Saska studied philosophy at the University of Zagreb, Croatia, before moving to New Zealand where she landed a lead role in a feature film. Continuing to act for the next decade, she removed herself as far from her grandmother’s shamanic upbringing as she could… until Gitane, her first daughter, was born with Down’s Syndrome.

“It all started by refusing to accept the limiting information which did not match the vision of cognitive/emotional development and well-being I intuitively knew to be possible for my daughter. Reaching deeply within, I created countless aromatherapy blends for joy, alertness, letting go, balance, calmness etc. Daily massages were our sacred rituals of bonding while nurturing Gitane’s body, mind and spirit. Next, the orders by my friends and their families started flying in… Making potions for my closest family and friends delighted me, which eventually planted the seed of Gitane Oils.
Providing luxurious skin products that are good for us, while honoring Mother Earth and keeping the integrity of only the purest, highest grade ingredients, has become my mission.
Sharing Gitane Oils with the world is my passion.”
